Wiring & Plumbing

Plumbing

Here is a suggested system-level overview of a typical watermaker setup with Brineomatic. You can download the Drawio file if you want to modify it for your own system.

Power Electronics

A nice and tidy way of wiring your system is to put most of the electronics into a waterproof box with DIN rail mounting. Then run wires to all your sensors and actuators that need to physically be present on your watermaker. For extra waterproofing you can use waterproof cable glands to enter/exit the box.

Rainman Retrofit

My SV Phoenix Rainman retrofit is the genesis of the Brineomatic project. I modified the plumbing to attach all the various sensors, as well as automating the high pressure pump, high pressure valve, diverter valve, and flush valve.

A large amount of this project uses 3d printed parts to hold all the parts together, with all the design files available. I tried to use only commonly available, off the shelf parts for the motors, sensors, relays, and solenoids.
